Who Wi-Fi is actually for

The case is not convenience for you. It is a household where the person measuring should not have to operate a phone: an older parent, someone whose readings a family member watches remotely, anyone for whom a pairing prompt is a reason to stop measuring. The reading leaves the device on its own and appears wherever it needs to appear.

The cost is a dependency. Both of these keep very little on the device itself, 8 readings on the Connect and 16 on the Vision, and everything beyond that lives in a Withings account. That is a reasonable trade for a connected household and a bad one if you wanted to avoid an app, which we cover on the no-app page.

Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and "wireless"

Wireless is a marketing word that covers both, and on a product page it usually means Bluetooth. The practical difference is only ever this: with Bluetooth a phone has to be present for the reading to travel, and with Wi-Fi it does not. Neither affects accuracy. What changes your number is cuff fit and technique, and the radio has nothing to do with either.
