We help you pick a home blood pressure monitor. Home monitors are medical devices, so the model number matters and the cuff size matters. We try to get both right and to show our work.

Where our facts come from

We do not test devices. We read the maker's manuals and validation pages, check clearance numbers in the FDA 510(k) database, and follow published guidance from the American Heart Association and the American College of Cardiology. Every claim links to its source. Read more on who writes this site.

How we pick monitors

1. 1. Is it still sold, and is it the current model?
2. 2. Has the maker published validation against a recognised standard such as ISO 81060-2?
3. 3. Does the cuff fit real arms, and is a bigger cuff available?
4. 4. Can you get the readings out and show them to a doctor?
5. 5. Can an older person set it up and use it without help?
