Clinical Accuracy: A Real Tie
The American Heart Association tells patients to pick any monitor on validateBP.org. Both Omron and Withings sit on that list with multiple models. The validation standard is AAMI/ESH/ISO 81060-2: mean error under 5 mmHg and standard deviation under 8 mmHg against a mercury reference. Top models from both brands pass.
If a cardiologist asks which one to buy, they will not steer you to a brand. They will steer you to any AAMI-validated cuff. So scratch accuracy off the decision list. It is a tie.
App Ecosystem: Omron Connect vs Health Mate
Withings Health Mate is the cleaner app. Charts are bigger. Apple Health sync is one tap. The home screen shows your weekly trend without digging into a sub-menu. Family sharing lives in settings as a normal toggle.
Omron Connect is more clinical. It runs TruRead automatically, which takes three readings one minute apart and shows the average. The AHA says home BP averages are more reliable than single readings, and Omron builds that into the app by default. The PDF export is built for doctor visits and matches the layout most US clinicians expect.
Pick Health Mate if you want a Fitbit-style feel. Pick Omron Connect if you want a tool that thinks like your doctor.
ECG: Only Withings
The Withings BPM Core adds a single-lead ECG strip and a digital stethoscope. It costs $129. If you have atrial fibrillation in your family or your doctor wants to screen for irregular rhythm at home, this is the only home BP cuff in the US that does both jobs at once.
Omron sells the EvolvBP and HeartGuide watch but does not pack ECG into a cuff in the US market as of May 2026. If ECG matters, Withings wins by default.
See the full Withings BPM Core review for ECG details.
Cuff Fit and Multi-User
Both stock cuffs cover 22 to 42 cm. That fits most adults. If your arm is over 42 cm, Omron sells a wide-range cuff that goes up to 17 inches (about 43 cm). Withings does not sell a larger cuff option in the US.
The Omron Platinum BP7350 supports two users on the device. The Withings BPM Connect is one user per device but multiple profiles in the app. For households with three or more users, see the multi-user hub.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Omron more accurate than Withings?
Both brands meet the AAMI/ESH/ISO 81060-2 standard of plus or minus 3 mmHg mean error. Top models from each brand sit on validateBP.org. Accuracy is a tie. The real choice is app, ECG, and cuff fit.
Does Withings have ECG and Omron does not?
Yes. The Withings BPM Core adds single-lead ECG and a digital stethoscope. Omron sells a separate ECG device (KardiaMobile partner products) but does not put ECG inside a home BP cuff in the US market as of May 2026.
Which app is better, Omron Connect or Withings Health Mate?
Health Mate is cleaner and syncs to Apple Health and Google Fit by default. Omron Connect feels more clinical, includes TruRead 3-reading averaging, and exports a PDF the AHA designed for doctor visits. Power users tend to like Omron. Casual users tend to like Withings.
Which brand fits a bigger arm?
Withings BPM Connect fits 22 to 42 cm. Omron Platinum BP7350 fits 22 to 42 cm. Both cover the same range. For arms over 42 cm, neither standard cuff fits. You need the Omron 9-inch to 17-inch wide-range cuff sold separately.
Can I use a Withings monitor without Wi-Fi?
Yes. The BPM Connect also works over Bluetooth. Wi-Fi is the headline feature but it falls back to Bluetooth if your router is down or you travel.
Does Omron sync to Apple Health?
Yes. The Omron Connect app syncs to Apple Health and Google Fit. Setup takes one extra step compared to Withings but the data lands in the same place.
Which brand is cheaper?
Omron Platinum BP7350 sells for $79. Withings BPM Connect sells for $99. Omron is $20 cheaper. The price gap closes at the ECG tier where the Withings BPM Core sells for $129.
Which brand does my doctor want me to use?
Most US clinicians ask for any monitor on validateBP.org. Both Omron and Withings have models on that list. Bring the in-app PDF export to your visit and your doctor will be happy with either brand.
What about Omron HeartGuide vs Withings ScanWatch?
Both are watch-form BP and heart trackers. HeartGuide uses a real cuff in the watch band. ScanWatch uses optical sensors and is more of a screening tool. For clinical accuracy stick with a cuff monitor from either brand.
Can I share data with family?
Yes on both brands. Withings Health Mate has a built-in family sharing toggle. Omron Connect lets you export PDF reports or share through the app. Withings is slightly easier for remote caregivers.
